News
Clutch Goalie Cristobal Huet (pronounced oo-AY) was about as
under the radar as you can get last fall. The France native's trade from the
Los Angeles Kings to the Montreal Canadiens at the 2004 draft drew attention
mostly because of the inclusion of Radek Bonk, and Huet was out with a knee
injury suffered while playing in Germany during the lockout.
Now, he's the talk of Montreal.
In a hockey-crazy city where goaltender is the most-scrutinized position
in sports, Huet has shined so much in his February stint as the No. 1 goalie
that Paul Arcand of the popular 98.5 FM morning radio show plays the French
national anthem the day after every Canadiens game.
